Agriturismo, in its Italian meaning, is a rural alternative to urban sightseeing. It does not correspond, however, to the traditional way the word "tourism" is used. One translation could be "farm house resorts", but we will refer, throughout this website, to the Italian term which is the most precise and comprehensive. Usually, agriturismo refers to a holiday of a week or a week-end, or even just a dining experience, in a rustic setting (often a farm house) serving home-grown and home-cooked products.
