Fishing in the Aniene near Saracinesco

In this part, close to Saracinesco, the Aniene waters are rich in big trout which find an ideal habitat in the slow flowing of its dark and deep waters.
The ideal fishing technique here is spinning with heavy weights (Martin 9, Mepps 3) which enable anglers to inspect deep holes. Fishing with minnows is also possible. In any event, “descent” fishing must be practised.

How to get there: take the Roma-L’Aquila highway and exit at Vicovaro-Mandela. Here take via Tiburtina, on the left. Leave your car just before the fork in the road for Saracinesco and reach the river banks
