Fishing in the Aniene close to Subiaco

Here anglers can fish in the very picturesque background provided by the clear waters of the upper Aniene.
Trout can be fished both with natural baits (worms, crickets and portasassi – a type of maggot), and artificial ones (spinning and fly fishing).

How to get there: take the Roma-L’Aquila highway and exit at Vicovaro-Mandela. Here take via Tiburtina, on the left, then via Sublacense on the right, and follow it to Subiaco. Once you have crossed this town, take the road on the left for Jenne, and follow the road signs for Villa di Nerone. From here, take a small road on the right which flanks the river.

Rules: a fishing license is necessary. Silkworms cannot be used as bait. In addition, between Piscicareglio and the ENEL power plant, only fly fishing is allowed

Fish: sea trout
