This type of bread, which comes in loaves of about 100 g, is prepared with bread wheat, water, natural yeast and salt. Its characteristic long shape is ideal to make sandwiches. The name is believed to derive from the Latin “cereola” which means candle and is due to the colour of the cooked bread, similar to that of candles.
