Aniene Valley Natural Reserve

Share

Fa parte dell'itinerario storico di: La Via Nomentana e La Via Salaria

The numerous bends of Aniene river, characterize the urban section of the Reserve, rich of oaks and, thanks to the river, plenty of elms, white willow and maple trees. Curious is the presence of crab and crayfish (that are, as clean waters inhabitants, two extremely valid ecological indicators). There is a conspicuous colony of bats. Relevant monument is the Nomentano Bridge, from the time of Menenio Agrippa and with many additions of Medieval time and of the Renaissance.
